High Five for Perfect High Fives!

Aug 29, 2008 | Lucas

"An abrupt collision of tow individuals' hands to signify coolness, acknowledgement, amusement, agreement, or testosterone (in the case of a male)."
   - UrbanDictionary.com on High Five

Wikipedia discusses 8 different variations of high gives, MSN has a high five emoticon, and there is even a national High Five Day celebrated each year in the United States (on the third Thursday of April)!

As the examples above have demonstrated, there is no doubt in my mind that high fives are an essential part of North American culture and an integral part of our lives. Missing while high fiving is most embarrassing and can even be a reason for mockery! Thus, in order to succeed in life and not be laughed at, it is important to have good high fiving skills. Here's a cool tip on how to increase your high-five accuracy:

Look at your high five recipient's elbow while high fiving.

I was a bit skeptical at first, but having thoroughly tested this theory over the past week I am confident in its applicability to day-to-day situations. So the next time you are about to high five someone, just look at their elbow and you won't miss. In fact, it might be your best high five ever!
